Today marks the start of the street art installations for the new Chevron Lane precinct within the refurbished Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre. Two main panels facing out towards Surfers Paradise Boulevarde are anticipated to be completed over the weekend with the scaffolding to be removed early next week. More panels are then to follow down through the laneway. If you are lucky you might get to watch the artists at work - but probably only glimpses through the scaffolding.

Construction has commenced on the Arkitektika designed refurbishment of the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre in the heart of Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast.
In a city starved of differentiation between retail and dining experiences, the refurbishment will magnetise the youthful and culture-hungry population that surrounds Surfers Paradise. A landmark for generations of locals and visitors, the Miami Ice site recently went to market for the first time.
Arkitektika partnered with a well known local Commercial Agent, Brad Duncalfe, providing a creative architectural conceptual design for the redevelopment of the Miami Ice property to assist with the successful sale.
While we are saddened to lose this landmark, the building itself was in a poor state of repair and in such a condition keeping and reusing it would have been cost prohibitive.
Continuing our work with BHMP SLSC, Stage 4 of the redevelopment work is nearing completion.
The building exterior is almost complete, with the finishing of the cladding and painting underway, and the scaffolding soon to be removed.
The dramatic form highlighted by the roof profile can be seen behind the remaining scaffolding.
Designed to tie together the original club building with the previous stages of the redevelopment, Stage 4 provides another level with amenities and terraces at the northern end for club members while ...

On a recent wet afternoon (and there have been a few!) we were proud to witness our satisfied clients along with the builder, Daniel Thompson of Latitude 28, ceremonially "turn the soil" to mark the start of construction for their new home.
